In today’s modern, digital world, organizations face ongoing and ever-changing cyberattack threats. At the same time that threats are evolving, organizational digital landscapes are constantly changing and growing. Because of this ever-changing landscape, organizations may find that it’s difficult to protect against cyber threats, especially when they are using outdated security measures.
Thankfully, Fortinet has created a Cyber Threat Assessment Program (CTAP), a free assessment that helps organizations’ security departments prepare for and protect against the most current cyberattacks.
How the CTAP Works
To conduct this assessment, Fortinet devices are deployed throughout an organization’s network. For up to seven days, these devices record information about network activity while creating an in-depth look at the network. The resulting CTAP report is primarily focused on providing information about security, user productivity, and network utilization. This assessment causes no interruption to the network and will not interfere with network security systems.
The Importance of the CTAP Report
The report from a CTAP offers organizations a number of important benefits including:
- An effective way to identify cybersecurity risks
- Targeted and prioritized recommendations about needed additional security measures
- A snapshot of the most modern cyberattacks
- An opportunity to see where network performance can improve
- A glimpse of where current security is not effective by allowing malicious content into the network
Given the potential exposure to threats today, the CTAP is a critical component of modern cybersecurity. Given its importance, at IT Vortex, we offer free Fortinet CTAP Assessments for clients. Contact us to learn more.
