FortiWeb, Fortinet’s Web Application Firewall (WAF) solution, has maintained its position as a Challenger in Gartner’s recently published Magic Quadrant for Web Application Firewalls.
As digital innovation increasingly relies on application development, we believe that web application and API protection will continue to grow in importance for our customers. As a result, we continue to invest in the innovative WAF capabilities that our customers will require as they continue their digital transformation journeys.
For example, customers need a solution that stops threats without generating false positives that increase administrative overhead. This is why we have introduced advanced machine learning capabilities into our WAF solution that both improve threat detection and reduce false positives.
Our customers are also increasingly moving applications to the public cloud and adopting DevOps methodologies. However, implementing consistent application security is a challenge for many DevOps teams. To address that, we have recently released our WAF-as-a-Service offering, FortiWeb Cloud WAF as a Service, that leverages public cloud infrastructure to deliver the same application and API protection as our physical and virtual appliances, but without the requirement to maintain and manage infrastructure.
